MPO Compliance Officer

The MPO department charged with protecting and promoting the dairy industry is headed by Barbara Bieldt. Barbara holds an honours degree in business economics and has been with the MPO for more than 10 years.

It is the responsibility of the MPO COMPLIANCE OFFICER to ensure that the MPO group of companies fully complies with financial and other legal requirements and that good corporate governance is maintained in order to uphold the image of quality, continued improvement and achievement.

Among other duties, this entails

Ensuring that BBBEE CERTIFICATION of all companies in the MPO group is in place and up to date, which is essential for government tenders and sponsorships of events;
ORGANISATION and ADMINISTRATION of all meetings of the MPO board, audit committee, executive committee and the Annual General Meetings, including compilation of notices, agendas and minutes;
Coordinating and CARRYING OUT DECISIONS taken at the MPO board, AGM, Exco and audit committee meetings;
Keeping up to date with LEGISLATION relevant to company administration and ensuring that the MPO group complies with it, e.g. PAIA and POPI Acts.
