The Milk Producers’ Organisation

Dr Chris van Dijk is the CEO of the MPO, a leading producer organisation representing almost 1 600 dairy farmers in South Africa. Following a successful career as a practising veterinary specialist in bovine herd health, and 15 years at one of the world’s leading veterinary pharmaceutical companies, he joined the MPO in May 2015.

To enhance the profitability, sustainability and competitiveness of the South African dairy industry, enabling the sector to be best positioned to operate successfully in future.

Sociological

The transfer of skills and knowledge to all role players in the industry forms an integral part of what is offered to the industry by the MPO Institute.

Technological

Access to research and the development of new technologies by adopting a customer focused approach through The Dairy Mail is a part of our communication strategy.

Legal

Trade conditions are addressed at all levels through regular interaction with government and other role players.

Environmental

The MPO has identified sustainability as one of our strategic imperatives to ensure an economically viable industry for all in the short, medium and long term.
