AgriCAREERConnect 2021 – showcase agriculture and interact with graduates

AgriCareerConnect

In response to the agricultural industry’s challenges to find qualified and experienced young agriculturists and scientists, AgriCAREERConnect 19–21 October 2021 is the space to be.  Here, agricultural companies and industry organisations can showcase career opportunities in agriculture and interact with students and graduates.  Six universities will be participating: Pretoria, Stellenbosch, Free State, Northwest, Limpopo, and KwaZulu-Natal.

This year’s online event will be hosted by a partnership between AgriJob, AgriConnect (including Alfa Animal Expo), and Agri Gauteng, using the Agri TV digital channel as event platform.

AFMA, De Heus, RPO, NAHF, and AfriVet already confirmed their participation. Doc Faffa will be involved as industry expert on 20 October, in the Animal Health session.

Theme: Value chain in agriculture in action

Track 1 Tue 19 Oct                        Horticulture, agronomy, soil science

Track 2 Wed 20 Oct                     Animal Science

Track 3 Thu 21 Oct                       Agricultural economy, finance, marketing, logistics, retail, export, food and consumer science, engineering,                                                              systems efficiency, information technology, and data management

How to participate?

Participation is easy. Companies choose an option for participation; costs vary from R5 000, R12 000, and R20 000 (excluding VAT). Companies make short powerful videos, highlighting career opportunities, and videos will be uploaded on the Agri TV digital channel for students and graduates to view from 12 October onwards. Students register online to attend specific breakaway Zoom sessions at pop-up studios at their universities, where representatives from each company or industry organisation will spend 10 minutes in the breakaway sessions (almost like speed-meetings) with each university, to answer students’ questions and give comments.

What an excellent opportunity to promote the agricultural industry and interact with students and graduates.  The videos will be available on the Agri TV channel for a year – imagine the value of this for prospective students, and school learners!
