Become a MPO mentor

“One of the greatest values of mentors is the ability to see ahead what others cannot see and to help them navigate a course to their destination” – John C. Maxwell

The MPO wishes to update its database of dairy mentors who can be approached for future dairy mentorship programmes. These mentorship programmes form part of smallholder or emerging transformation projects which are coordinated by Government through the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) and/or the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) and facilitated by industry.

The role of a mentor is to encourage the personal and professional development of a mentee (smallholder farmer) through sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience. The mentoring relationship must be built on mutual trust, respect and communication, with regular visits to exchange ideas, discuss progress and set goals for further development.

For more information and contact details of prospective mentors, please contact Helene Pheiffer at 079 528 1934 or helene@mpo.co.za
