Build capacity through training

The MPO’s Institute for Dairy Technology offers the following skills development programmes to all workers on dairy farms:

• Milk production and husbandry

• Artificial insemination (AI)

• Occupational health and safety – Dairy code of practice for milk producers

Dairy farmers can also choose specific modules from the Dairy Occupational Qualification for further training:

• Introduction to the South African dairy farming environment

• Dairy calf and heifer rearing

• Dairy animal healthcare

• Dairy livestock feeding

• Dairy animal production

• Milk harvesting and in-parlour processing
