Global prices 1,7% higher

Dairy product prices increased by 1,7% at the GlobalDairyTrade sale on 21 March. This has been the first increase since December 2016. Although prices are down 10% from December 2016, prices are on average still 89% higher than in February 2015. Negative production growth in some export countries and modest growth in the EU, as well as the slow but steady improvement in Chinese and other markets, have resulted in a lower supply and higher demand, thus leading to higher prices.
