International prices moving upward

Global dairy prices continued to improve at the Global Dairy Trade auction on 1 June 2016, with the Global Dairy Price Index climbing by 3,4%, with an average selling price of $2 329 per ton.  The price of skimmed milk powder (SMP) increased by 12,1% while the price of full-cream milk powder (FMP) declined by 1,7%. This was the second increase in a row in global dairy prices at the auction. Price increases at four of the last five auctions suggest an ongoing modest improvement in international dairy prices.
