Is butter back?

The debate about whether butter is good for you continues along with new research on the effect of butter on our health. Emerging evidence suggests that dairy products and dairy fat have cardiometabolic benefits. Evidence on the role of butter with a high saturated dairy fat content in total mortality, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes remains unclear. The most recent finding on whether or not butter is a healthy dietary option is neutral.  It does not matter if one adds butter to one’s diet or not. The research results were published in the Plos One journal. The aim of the study was to systematically review and meta-analyse the association of butter consumption with all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes in general populations.
