Robotic dairies on the rise

GNE Farm Equipment has taken robotic dairies to a new level with the development of an application that uses Universal Robots’ (UR) collaborative robots or cobots to reduce the labour costs of milking still further. In addition to automating the disinfection of cow udders before and after milking, the company states that the cobot offers dramatic improvements over traditional robotic approaches. Owner and head developer at GNE, Gerard Niessink, said in an interview with DairyReporter “The role and purpose of our robot is to replace workers, saving labour, being more reliable. What we use the robot for is for pre-applications (i.e. before milking sanitation) and post applications (after milking the cow).” To read more, click HERE.
