Agricultural ministers meet with ASUF

An ASUF delegation led by Mr Japie Grobler, acting chairperson of ASUF, met with Minister Senzeni Zokwana and deputy Minister Bheki Cele in Pretoria on Monday.

“The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the Agri-Sector Unity Forum (ASUF) to the ministers, and to establish a framework for constructive dialogue on the many critical challenges the broader agricultural sector faces”, Mr Grobler said.

Minister Zokwana and deputy minister Cele outlined their expectations of the sector in terms of food security, growth, greater access and opportunity, especially for the youth, skills development and job creation, amongst others. The ministers committed to dialogue and working with ASUF and the sector to tackle competitiveness, transformation and resource management in the sector.
