Challenges facing milk producers

Sabrina Dean spoke to MPO CEO Dr Chris van Dijk about some of the challenges facing producers, especially inland producers, in an interview on OFM Agri News. He explained that about 20% of the 3,3 billion litres of milk produced in the country came from the inland regions of South Africa. He stated that feed costs are escalating rapidly while milk prices remain low. He also elaborated on, among other things, MPO activities that are aimed at helping dairy farmers to stay in business in the future. To listen to this interesting interview, click HERE.
