Exports increase again

During April 2014, 3 979 tonnes of dairy product were imported, 42% more than during April 2013. Total imports for the year ending April 2014 equals 16 893 tonnes, up from the 13 777 tonnes imported during the first four months of 2013. Dairy products were imported at higher prices than during 2013. Exports continued at the same rate as in previous months. Total exports for the first four months of this year is slightly higher than during the same months last year. Total exports for the four-month period exceeds total imports on a milk equivalent basis by 61 million litres, the same as last year.
