Feedback on MPO Free State route meetings

The three route meetings held in the Free State last week under the leadership of MPO Free State chairman Mr Gideon Lamprecht were characterised by good interaction and attendance. Mr Bertus de Jongh MPO CEO gave an overview of the outlook for the dairy industry locally and internationally and said that the dairy market is expected to grow in the next decade as South Africa will become the bread and milk basket of Africa in future. Mr De Jongh lauded South African dairy farmers for being at the forefront of innovation and efficiency.  MPO economist Dr Koos Coetzee briefed producers on the latest local and international economic trends. He said the meetings were informative and that the MPO will follow up valuable comments and suggestions from producers.
