US dairy industry capitalises on exports

The US dairy industry became the world’s largest exporter of fat-free and skimmed milk powder for the first time in 2013. Exports of 51 620 tonnes of these products in March 2014 are higher than during 2013. Cheese is still the major export product representing 6,3% of total US cheese production. Cheese exports to April 2014 are 42% higher than 2013. The US is growing into a major player on the world dairy market. The significant growth in exports has had a positive effect on cheese and milk prices in the country. Cheese prices are currently at an all-time high. To read more click HERE.
